Yes BH, it's been a ripping series so far.....young Jansen definitely looks like a very good bowler, apparently can bat a bit, but more in the bowling allrounder mould. Rabada has been fantastic again, just ambles in and then lets it rip with a laconic action, Ngidi has had his moments too......top class bowling attack....batting wise young Petersen reminds me of a right handed Duminey, Elgar a poor man version of Graham Smith, but just as tough.....Markram looks talented, but seems to have gone off the boil a bit with his run making.....Bavuma looks solid , but I think has only oneĀ test 100 to his name after 40 odd tests batting 4-6.....van der Dussen looks good in parts, but seems to throw his innings around that 25-40 mark.....at 32 years of age, that to me is a worry. I think the SA batting is pretty average, totally dependent on their excellent bowling attack to keep the opposition totals under 300. Pant once again scored a Pantesque like 100.....100 not out outĀ of a total of 198 is fantastic going, especially since Kohli is no mug with the bat and he was 2nd top scorer with 29 off 140 odd deliveries.
Good to see the Indians lose their rag with the DRS, hoping SA sneak out the win tonight and thus take the series 2-1. Looking forward to seeing them play over here in NZ, and of course Australia in the near future. Can see some good battles between Green and Jansen over the coming years, both of similar age, one a batting allrounder, the other a bowling allrounder and both over 200cm. Though there is a worry with Jansen, as he does look Bruce Reid like in stature, be very interesting to see how the SA camp manage his work loads over the coming years......
