Woo hoo some cricket is finally back on with the ENG vs WI Test Series starting tonight at the Rose Bowl in Hampshire......weather permitting of course as it is the UK!

Eng won the toss and elected to bat and are 1/3 after 4 overs and 5 rain delays!!!

A decent start by the Windies to knock the Poms over for 204 in their first dig.
The very in form Windies skipper Jason Holder (6/42) & much improved Shannon Gabriel (4/62) sharing all the Pommy wickets between them.
WI were 1/57 at stumps on Day 2.

Good to see the Windies on top - typical pom weather trying to throw a spanner in the works.

good posts lads -- it is good to see the cricket back on the tele. The Englishmen seem to have an uncanny habit of going behind in test series. I thought the WI bowlled well.

So no Joe Root for England - leaving their batting as brittle as I can remember. The all rounder and the wicket keeper are the pick of the crop batting wise. Could you imagine them coming to these shores with a line up like this?

The Windies have a decentish 1st innings lead so hopefully their bowlers can get stuck in again and we get a result. Beautiful English summer weather expected for the last 2 days with a scorching 22 C on day 5 - batting could become easier. Certainly great to have test cricket back even if they can't put spit on the ball.

Stumps Day 3-

1st Innings- ENG 204
1st Innings- WI 318
2nd Innings- ENG 0/15

The Poms fought back with the bat on Day 4 before a late in the day collapse losing 5/30 in the last hour.
They still take a 180 run lead into the last days play with 2 wickets in hand, an intriguing last days play ahead.
Can the Windies pull of an upset or predictably fall to another Calypso Collapso?!

Would not like to be batting on that thing chasing over 200 to win - it looks as dodgy as a 3 cent piece mate

I wonder which one of the Pommy ring ins will do the most damage with the ball on the last day pitch Southy....the West Indian or the Kiwi?
