I just watched the start of the sheila's T20 game between India and Bangladesh from the WACA. The game should have started half an hour earlier to take into account the length of the Bangers national anthem. Jeez I'm sure I had 2 birthdays whilst it was being played...South Africa's where they sing it twice in English and Afrikaans is not even in the conversation of longest national anthem ever compared to that bad boy.

They have been on the edge of elimination for much of the tournament because of their loss to India in the first game. In fact they were 9 minutes away from being knocked out in the semi final. They were all over India from the first ball which Healy smashed to the boundary. India looked completely overwhelmed which is probably understandable given that half the team are under 21. England would have probably given the Aussies a better contest if they had got a chance. An outstanding performance by Meg Lanning and her team.

I noticed the Australians have won 5 of the last 6 women's T20 world cups....maybe they should contract the WAFC to implement equalisation measures...I can see them recommending the Aussies bat and bowl with their non-dominant sides or Australia can only field and bat with 6 players or similar. I'm sure they'd come up with something unseen in world sport to bring the Australians down to everyone else's level.

Agree wholeheartedly BC, the WAFC are the doyens of sports administration and should be listened to!!

I'm sure Stand the T20 has noticed, and is busy preparing his extensive list of whinges about the inherently unfair advantages the Aussie sheilas enjoy.

The big difference being of course the Australian Womens Cricket team are all local zoned girls and not all bought in from the outside to buy a World Cup/Premiership!

After game 1 where Australia were flogged by India one could not say Australia were the top team. India just collapsed in the last game..

That's analogous to the WAFL in 2018 LS where Subi were beaten by Souths in round 2 but managed to battle on as underdogs to win the flag anyway....go figure.
