Luke Jackson. Has to be one of the hottest properties in the AFL right now, still around 19 or 20 and keeps getting better after a breakout game in the grand final. With Nic Nat in his 30's and injured a knee again you'd think WC would throw everything at this West Australian kid. They might as well start the cleanout now and play the kids. The lower they finish on the ladder the better.

But I think Luke Jackson has indicated he's happy at Melbourne and keen to stay. First round plus second round plus Jack Darling?

I doubt it. Why would Jackson want to leave the best club in the competition which has a young enough list to contend for at least the next 3 or 4 years and come to the Eagles who are now looking to rebuild? Unless he wants to come home in which case the Dockers would be a better bet given they are heading in the right direction.

Rumours have him coming home to Perth with The Dockers being his place of choice. How do Freo get this deal done, what’s the cost as their draft picks this year look like being late first round then a fourth or fifth, how do the Dockers satisfy the Demons to get a deal done. What is Luke Jackson worth?

I wouldn't sell the farm to get him like WCE did with Kelly. No fault of Kelly's as he was just the meat in the sandwich but if getting Jackson is going to burn draft picks for years to come then don't do it I say.

Good comment BC.Its not Tim Kellys fault,WC where risking all for another flag.And are paying the price for that trade.And top of the table Geelong are laughing all the way to the bank+Kellys a high impact player not a prolific possession winner.
Melbourne have a history of trading.They paid big for Lever+May.And will trade Jackson for Lobb+a first round and second round pick.Getting back a 4th+5th rounders back to Freo.

Why would Jackson want to go to Freo, he will be second string to Darcy like he is now to Gorn, unless they see him as a key position player at CHB or CHF where he would be very good imho. If he wants to ruck then WC would be the better choice given Nic Nat is getting on and injury prone. Jackson already has a flag in his kitbag so maybe leading the ruck at WC during their re-build on big money has some appeal.

Jackson to me should sign on for another 2 years at Melbourne, ride that Melbourne train for what it is worth. Then when Darcy's contract at Freo is up end of 2024, see if he wants to go back to Victoria and Jackson comes home to WA.....surely a deal could be done there, without either club breaking the bank.....going to WCE would be a huge error I reckon.
