The Eagles are keen but not sure why.They will have to win 2 grand finals at the Mcg.To take the Flag.

It would also make it tough for supporters of interstate teams as you'd either have to spend at least a week in Melbourne or only attend one GF and not be guaranteed of a winner....dumb idea all around.

Probably the dumbest idea I have heard for a while. Obviously trying to copy the American model of baseball and basketball finals series which has a best of 5 or 7 component. Just like now they are turning the draft into a complete circus by stretching it out over 2 days and allowing clubs to 'live trade' picks

It is NOT the AFL's idea it was put up by Sydney as the teams outside of Victoria have had a gutfull of the bias towards the Vic clubs especially the secret behind closed doors deal to extend the afl GF at the MCG with the Vic Govt for another 50 years without any consultation with Interstate teams whatsoever!

3 straight games between the same clubs is unheard of in our game and I think it would be boring. I stand by my idea which is fair and I don't think whoever finishes higher should get any advantage. Any two clubs that make the GF deserve to be treated as equal and there should be no advantage to any one club. If one club finished minor premiers and the other side finished 6th, the top side has already enjoyed advantages getting to the GF.

Play 2 games, 1 at each sides home ground and if both win one each it comes down to percentage, simple as that. Going into game 2 everyone will know how much the other side needs to win by and will be just as exciting.

How so when 20 GF's since 1990 have involved interstate teams with them winning 12 of the 20 including a stretch of 6 on the trot between 2001 and 2006? The bias becomes even less when you consider all finals are now played at the home ground of the highest finisher with the exception of the GF which statistically doesn't appear to hold too many demons for travelling clubs.
