I like this idea from Brian Taylor - every AFL club is required each season to draft at least recruit from the 2nd level comps ie WAFL, SANFL, VFL etc.

Yes what a great idea. I would even go further and make it two players and maybe look at lifting the draft age in general to compensate the numbers. Agree JS totally.

Definitely a great idea....plus lifting the draft age is a must....great to see Kelly playing great footy, ditto Menagola.....others like Black and Nelson from WP surely would of been better bets than some of those young draftees of Freos in the past like Crozier, Ballard, Balic etc....plenty others like ex Perth boy Tropiano...plus Phelan, Wheeler et al at Subi.....too much emphasis is put on the future....christ how about the here and now too.....pick players who are capable from the off too....

The draft age should be lifted to 20, so these boys can have a couple of years of senior football behind them rather than straight out of underage 18s/school football as is the case now!

JB look at the clubs full of young players like Gws and Gold coast. The players are joining the Afl comp to Young. There body's are not ready for Afl .And are constantly injured.

I agree whole heartedly with the idea, it also gives clubs a chance to see whether or not the player improves and is up to the rigors of semi professional sport.

Some players will still just be b grade but some with time will develop into AFL b graders with the occasional A grader - Priddis.

There have been players all through the ages that have come back and been good players in the WAFL.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
