What a weekend of footy that was. Another nightmare for tipsters with a number of games being decided in the last 5 minutes.
Probably the Friday night game was the most predictable of the weekend with Sydney easily handling a banged up Demons who were playing their 4th game in 18 days with a trip to Perth thrown in.
Then we had West Coast playing a solid 3 quarters of footy then almost throwing it away in the last, Carlton taking it up to Adelaide. Gold Coast and North slugging it out, GWS and Geelong fighting out a thrilling draw (poor Tommy) and the Tigers upsetting Port in Adelaide (maybe they are the real deal in 2017)
Then today we had the Bombers being upset on their home patch by the bottom team when they seemingly had the match under control, Hawthorn seemingly putting another nail in the coffin for Nathan Buckley and his coaching career and finally the gut wrenching arm wrestle between the Dockers and Saints which contained one of the finest individual performances I have seen in a losing team for a long time(Michael Walters).
All that drama in one weekend and we are still no closer to working out who might be in the top 8, top 4 or premiership candidates. It's just too topsy turvy and so many close games every weekend. I reckon a lot of teams would be looking over their shoulders at the 2000's powerhouses the Swans and Hawks who both seem to be building. Surely the Swans couldn't win the flag after a 0-6 start? Or could they???
Can't wait for next weekends games!
