I don't see why there is a big push for a twilight grand final. Think the Grand final usually starts at 2:30pm EST. I thought they could maybe push it back to 3:30pm possibly 4pm but I do not think it needs to be any later.

The build up is great on GF day from the North Melbourne Grand Final Breakfast through to the BBQ's happening around the ground. They are trying to put to much emphasis on the half time or pre game entertainment. We ain't the Super Bowl we are the AFL and we do our show piece game great in our own way.

Did anyone watch the game from Leederville Oval last night?
It would be fair to say there will never be a night GF in the WAFL at that ground you could barely see the play which wasnt such a bad thing considering the appalling standard and from 2 full time AFL listed sides.
So much for the AFL clubs improving the standard of footy after watching some early 1980s WAFL during the week the standard of football has gone backwards nowadays!

It's interesting when you look at a few surveys that have been done recently, without doubt the punters don't wont a night GF but the AFL seem intent on bringing it in anyway.
I personally don't want it at all. Night footy can be pretty sloppy at times with the amount of dew that can accumulate at nightfall and its just not as good to look at as far as Im concerned. Added to that I like the current lunch time start around the Barbie with a beer.
