Hawthorn it seems is preparing itself to make a play for the likes of Fyfe and Martin in the next couple of years by moving on a few veterans and making room in the salary cap.

So in other words, the Hawthorn football club sees itself as having the right to continue to be a club blessed with success at the expense of clubs that are starved of success.

This post is the biggest load of shit I have ever read and the headline says it all! Hawthorns greed for success?? I think it's just jealousy that no other club matches them the past 30 years or 60 for that matter in success as for Fyfe he is as popular as Michael Clarke was as Aussie skipper it seems

I agree with you SD. Hawthorn do it very well and to demonstrate this, they managed to get the business done with O'Meara despite the many problems that were thrown up. Every team wants to succeed every year so to say that a team is greedy is pretty silly IMO. Hawthorn have shown that they have a long range plan in place and instead of whinging about it, other clubs should try and have a look at what they are doing and improve their recruitment practices.

Are you sure there's two or three other posts on this thread that would be worse and don't tell me you take notice of the crap that comes out of Hackdorns mouth regarding Fyfe as well SD.

Swandog you are obviously a Hawthorn supporter which makes your comments interesting considering you are FIRMLY in the corner of supporters that detest the financial advantage that Subiaco has in the WAFL and use it to full advantage to dominate this competition.

No it's not silly Mike. This is an 18 team competition and the draft is designed to assist those down near the bottom achieve success while penalizing those who have successive years of success. What has made it possible for clubs like Hawthorn to buck the system is free agency which has turned the AFL into a meat market and certain clubs I will acknowledge pitch themselves very well as a club of choice to go to more than others.

My point is, is this good for the AFL? It's good for Hawthorn, good for Sydney, good for Geelong, but that is at the expense of the other 15 teams in the competition and at the expense of a more interesting competition as a whole.

Doesn't matter at the end of the day public opinion speaks for itself. People are sick and tired of seeing Hawthorn, Sydney and Geelong dominating finals and grand finals and taking the silverware. Hence most neutrals were barracking for the Western Bulldogs in the grand final. It's unhealthy for any competition for a couple of clubs to keep dominating while others continue to struggle.

TBH I can understand how eastern states basketball supporters in the NBL must be pissed off by the ongoing success of the Perth Wildcats. Clearly successful because they have been blessed with wealthy owners.

please provide evidence Subi is "rorting" the system. If you can't then a full apology is required and sanctions from the administrator. OFA...over to you.

Stuffed if I can see the problem with Hawthorn's aggressive recruiting. They have been the standout club for 25 years and this is because they back themselves. I just wish my club was as aggressive and smart at the trade table as they are.

au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/afl/a/32954300/no-trade-for

I thought I would post this on here considering Brad Lloyd would know Fyfes situation a bit more than the imposters parading themselves as journolists, but this wouldn't suit the narrative of the shit posters on this site who only post anything negative about Freo but by all means carry on freo still keeping Ozfooty relevant even Peel for that matter lol.
