Mitchell would be a brilliant fit for any AFL team in 2017.. anyone who disputes that is just crazy.. Mitch Brown should be sending his number 1 jumper to Sam immediately.. ;)

Top 5 Hawthorn player of all time pretty sure its worth it. Plus he will only play 10-11 games at Subi & by past games there he has absolutely dominated..

A player of Mitchell's calibre coming to a WA club, albeit in the twilight of his career is a very rare thing in WA and a coup for WA football to see a player of his standing every second week. I reckon he can squeeze two more years out of himself. He'll probably like to play a season at the new stadium. Fyfe probably wishes he would come to Fremantle lol.

I gotta say I'm a bit mystified by it all. Why would Mitchell come to WA to play out his career then take up coaching? Couldn't he do that at Hawthorn? I get the Clarkson/Simpson connection but what could he possibly learn under Simpson that he couldn't pick up from Clarko?

Don't worry BC it will probably work in your clubs favour. He will probably be staggered and reaching for the Parker pen when he sees what Subi can offer him after he finishes his AFL career.

For Hawthorn & Mitchell it is a great idea. His kids start school next year. Hawks lose a old player & free up salary cap. Mitchell at West Coast could end up like Dangerfield at Geelong. They freed up Selwood. Mitchell could free up Priddis. Both win/win.

It could be good for the Eagles next year if he stays fit. Maybe he can even teach them to win interstate and how to win the important games!! However, I think the biggest plus will be if he takes over as mid field coach in the future.

I think they said his wife was from Perth and they planned to live here when he retired from footy.
This has come up so why not come here a bit earlier.

And it would seem that his going to the Eagles, as good as guarantees them the next years flag.

Definitely tongue in cheek anchor? You and I know there are no guarantees in sport. Who knows if he can stay on the track all season? Plus he won't have the same onfield support. As I said before, the chance that he could become the midfield coach is the most exciting part of it all.
