Who would have picked that? Well done Doggies. Yet the Hawks were one Isaac Smith straight kick away from qualifying for yet another preliminary final last week. Sets up an intriguing clash in Sydney next week. The Dogs have got significant momentum now and they have a great chance of being in the Grand Final. Its been a great era for Hawthorn but all good things must come to an end

You beat me to it Mike. Great boost for the finals to know at least Hawthorn won't be there on GF day. Freezin should be up and about. Good luck to the Doggies, so what half of the draw are they in now? They play Sydney do they? I think Kurt Tippet is out with a fractured jaw. That should be a great contest. The Swans will be desperate to bounce back.

Swans play Crows tomorrow. Doggies in prelim against Giants.. They could easily win.

So winner of Swans v Crows against the Cats? I think all the sides that had ? marks over them are out now. I think all those close wins by the Hawks in the dying seconds, sometimes after the siren while still a great team to pull those off, showed they aren't the same outfit of the last 3 or 4 years.

Its not the end of an era Mike, thats just media rubbish! With the Hawks current list which has plenty of yoing talent plus the off season additions like Jaegar, Mitchell, Vickory etc the era will continue and they will be in the top 5 contenders next year make no mistake
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

I'm not so sure about that Swandog. Once your top end quality drops away the second tier gets exposed. I think O'Meara will be making a big mistake going to Hawthorn. Wrong time. There will be a massive amount of retirements in the next year or two, blokes like Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis have been Hawks from the outset, to expect outsiders to come in and be instant replacements I don't think it works that way. Hodge and Mitchell I thought looked slow and tired against the Bulldogs and they aren't going to get any better.

And O'Meara is a risk, he's spent two years out of the game with knee troubles, something seriously wrong there.

I don't think Hawthorn would go near him without their medical staffs approval, the Hawks will be up there again next year.

Anyway I'm hoping the Crows or the Bulldogs can you go all the way, I don't want a manufactured club like GWS with three supporters winning it.
