They now get to show case a prelim at Spotless with ten thousand members where are they going to get the other 15 thousand from to fill out the stadium a lot of free tickets given away by the sounds of it, the irony the AFL love child has been beaten by the other AFL love child.

I think on the positive side it's good they have risen to success quickly. If they are struggling the AFL would be propping them up until they are successful.

But the AFL has propped them up since day dot, Ffs Fitzpatrick rang up Richard Colless and abused him when Sydney got Buddy after they thought he was going to GWS it was a for gone conclusion and then they slapped Sydney with sanctions for getting him

at least they have taken advantage of the draft concessions etc they were offered....Gold Coast on the other hand hemmmmmmmm....the prospect of Stevie J lining up against his old club in a GF would have me tuned in. My gut feeling right now is neither of the 2 teams who won straight thru to the prelims will be there the following week bringing the bye round right in to focus...hope I'm wrong I'd love to see these 2 go at it in the GF as a neutral...anyone other than the Hawks again please

So prelims are Geelong v Swans assume the MCG and GWS v WB @ Orange Stadium.

No clear favourites in any of these contests exactly how you want it to be.

Looks like Gary Rowan might have done his knee so that's a cruel blow for the Swans on the back of losing Tippet last week. Any other hard luck stories?

Can anyone tell me why the AFL has scheduled the Geelong V Sydney game for the Friday night, thus only giving Sydney (who finished on the top of the ladder) only a 6 day break after a very physical match?. It would appear to me that the logical move would be to have the GWS v Dogs game on the Friday night or alternatively both games on the Saturday. I have a feeling that I know the answer to this question and that answer contains the number 7.
Will be very tough for Sydney to make the GF given this fixturing.

haha, no that wasn't me but I heard the call and that got me thinking about it. I don't normally listen to Hagdorn and Maumill but I left the radio on after finding out about all the political excitement going on at the moment. No doubt it will be a tense Liberal party room meeting on Tuesday

Sydney forfeited that right when they lost the qualifying final, don't worry the AFL would of done all it could to make it easier for their love child.

Channel 7 58shark. Friday night is prime time and a Geelong v Sydney game will rate a lot higher than the other game.

Whoever did the AFL finals scheduling this year must of escaped from a secure institution..

Fair dinkum, 1 week break before finals. game on Thursday night, forcing the team that finished on top to play away from home, then giving them a 6 day break for a pre lim they have to travel for, then playing a Pre Lim final at a joke of a stadium that holds less people than a few WAFL grounds - farcical.
