I have never been a knocker of umpires, but I hope those from tonight's game are officiating a B grade game out in the back blocks.

I saw Hawks have the Umpires on their side & still flogged. Couldn't get 10 scoring shots by 3/4 time. Beaten by a better side on the day.

Take your Freo glasses off anchor. They crucified the Eagles where they could. The missed frees and incorrect decisions earlier and then further on - both ways, was deplorable.

Said it before, I did the job at a very lower level for a lot of years, so I don't normally knock umps. But some times I scratch my head. I take lead from your Freo/SDFC mates and complain about the umps. But I will move on.

Free kicks were 20 all, hmm must have been watching a different game. As with most games there were some questionable decisions against both sides. Generally the Eagles get a lot of "home crowd" kicks at Subi so maybe that was what was missing tonight.

For heaven's sake mike, did you actually watch the game, or are you guessing? It's not about what the Eagles did or didn't get nor "home crowd frees". My comments were made because of the repeated woeful decisions going BOTH ways. Even the commentators (on ABC Grandstand) couldn't work out what was going on. I'm sure players from both sides were left scratching their heads. I don't normally knock the umps coz they have a hell of a job, but they far from covered themselves with glory in that game.

Sorry mate misunderstood your original post. I thought you were complaining that the Eagles got a raw deal. I did watch most of the game and like you I thought that there were a few funny decisions especially the deliberate out of bounds call. There was one involving Schofield which was just a shanked kick but paid as deliberate. Also the "kicking in danger" rule seems to have gone off the radar as there were several times that could have been penalised

All cool mike. And yes in my opinion the Eagles did get a raw deal at times, but so did the Hawks. Still, I'll move on and forget it.
