and..... a massive crowd of 13000 turned up to watch this juggernaut smash last seasons premiers. The AFL have a long way to go before they make an impact in Western Sydney. Maybe all the punters were in Adelaide watching their team in the A league grand final.

A/M Western Sydney is very much a round ball area, given the origins of many of the population who live there. No matter how successful GWS are, it is still going to be hard for the AFL to penetrate what is a soccer and rugby stronghold. I do agree however that GWS cannot fail given the amount of concessions they have been given and I will be very surprised if they don't win a flag in the next 3-5 years. They may win several premierships in fact.

yep 13K was piss poor, a hell of a lot more would of been following the Western Wanderers in the Adelaide GF.

It has nothing to do with crowd attendances. The game was on TV. Same as Domain last night, lots of vacant seats.
