The effort by Rance was very ordinary to say the least. Un-charactaristic maybe, but still an act deserving of time on the side lines.

I reckon he's lucky he only copped two weeks.

I read his quote and he described the blow as a "slap" and that Rance being a good citizen should have been given the benefit of the doubt. I saw the incident live and it was a blow that bounced Watts head onto the ground. Pretty decent slap. As for the second argument, that is like saying because I have been a law abiding citizen all my life, this gives me some licence to get drunk this Saturday and drive recklessly on the roads but get away with a warning because of my reputed good character. The man talked piffle in his press conferences as a coach and obviously hasn't changed.

Mick probably copped 4 of those from Carl Diertrich everytime Richmond played St Kilda. Probably why he thinks it's just a slap. Mick needs a hobby.

That must have been how Judd got off with his elbow to Pavlich's face a few seasons ago. What was refreshing was Rance's frank admission and expression of, in my opinion, genuine regret and remorse.
