The AFL has confirmed it is investigating Adelaide amid allegations the Crows made an agreement to send forward Kurt Tippett to the club of his choosing.

Tippett, who wants to leave the Crows for premiers Sydney, is off contract at Adelaide.

But Melbourne's The Age newspaper has reported the Crows told the AFL they made a secret agreement to send Tippett to the club of his choice for a second-round draft pick when the forward signed his last contract in 2009.

Strict rules covering draft tampering are in place in the AFL.

The league says it is in the process of investigating a matter "regarding the contracting of player Kurt Tippett to the Adelaide Crows in 2009, to cover the 2010-2012 AFL seasons.
"The AFL is still in the process of investigating this matter and how it relates to the operation of the AFL Player Rules."

Doubt whether anything will happen - just be swept under the rug by Vlad.

I think the Crows will be in for a fine and maybe more, sounds like a major stuff up by them.
