I disagree Anchor. I think it is an inconsistent decision in that why are the villians allowed to top up their list when the other clubs aren't. Essendon should have been forced to use their VFL team and that would have been fair. Don't forget also that Port Adelaide recruited Monfries before the drugs scandal broke.
I agree, WAFL clubs took on Essendon players AFTER the AFL had cleared them ( a joke of an investigation admititly ) nevertheless it was a Bona Fidie undertaken with clearance from the AFL and EFC, then the World body took action outside of the AFL findings, how can an innocent party like a WAFL club not feel agrieved?
Let's not forget that the WAFC AGREED with the AFL that the WAFL clubs would not get compensation for the loss of any players and/or coaches. The same body, the WAFC, also said that they would back Swans' bid for compensation.
