Its a fair comment, most of em looked like they didn't want to win the ball, always letting the hawks player get it. In fairness to pridda he was monster-ed all day by at least 2 to 1. Clearly a tactic of clarko's.

Not sure what was up with Kennedy but a Coleman medal winner giving off the ball when he was probably more likely to kick the goal than Hurn. Then he did it later in the match as well.

Really was a hard game to watch, hopefully it drives the boys for next year.

Bit rough on Kennedy there Anchor, the fella has kicked 80 goals this year..give some credit where its due..McPharlin keeps most FF under wraps......Kennedy got shite service all day and the fella even gave one off to that seagull Lecras in the goal square when he could of been like Ballyntyne and been a selfish bugger and kicked the goal himself just to say he kicked a goal in a GF.....the fella presents all day and hands off a bucket load each game too.......

.....Kennedy is a good footballer and a team player.....you would swap him for Freo numpties like Ballntyne, Mayne or Taberner in a heartbeat......I would even say he would be that missing piece in Freo's elusive quest for their virgin premiership.......because those 3 Freo boys wont deliver you one, all three are finals chokers at best....anyway Freo's window is closed, Pav is so far expired he has curdled, no McPharlin to keep Kennedy quiet now........TBH WCE have got more chance of playing in next years GF than Freo......and I despise WCE......

Anchor I am pretty sure the likes of Dunstall, Lockett, Sumich,Franklin, Pav never kicked their big tallies against the premier fullbacks of their day......that is how it goes, sheet how many goals did Pav kick in his hey day at FF 70?......were most of those kicked against the best of the best FBs in the comp that year?......

No Kennedy is not an out an out champ like those players above, but he helped a young WCE team get from 9th position into a GF this year......he is Coleman Medallist and a well deserved one in a game where FF dont even exist anymore and the chances of anyone kicking 100 goals in a season is history.....Pav in his hey day didnt kick 80 goals as a forward......pretty sure Pav enjoyed days out kicking his big bags v WBD, Melbourne and other lesser sides in his hey day...., as did Dunstall, Lockett, Sumich and Buddy......

Also Kennedy had 2 or 3 players on him every time the ball was kicked to him so therefore my question would be where were the Eagles players who were without an opponent. I would be questioning the efforts of players like Darling, Masten and Lecras before having a go at Kennedy. Gaff was a shining light for the Eagles yesterday but Hawthorn successfully reduced the impact of Priddis and Shuey. You wonder what Selwood might have done yesterday, he would have certainly been more accountable for his opponent than some of the others no doubt.

All in all though this Hawthorn team will go down as one of the great combinations in history. Clarkson is now up there with the coaching legends and there is no reason why this awesome team cannot do a 4 peat next year.

As for Clarko, he is arguably the best ever VFL coach. The Barassi's, Jeans, Kennedys et al were good so I hear, but I doubt they would match Clarko in today's footy. Good to see my favourite player outside the Eagles win the best on ground in the GF.

Funny how everyone goes on about Ross Lyon teams in GF,s lack of goal scoring , WC failed to do better , 8.13 is lower than any of Ross' losses in GF,s and WC has a gun forward line.

I find it very odd that clarkson has still not won a coach of the year award? Clearly he was the best coach this year & the best in last 10 years.

And 2 of those goals were right at the death when Hawks had already started 3 peat celebrations. Bit harsh on Kennedy delivery awful, lack of it and Frawley got plenty of help. Too many downhill skiers that a GF shows up, Le Cras, Hill, the short backline got found out, but thought Shepherd was ok, then the missing brigade Natanui, Yeo, Sinclair had shockers

Totally agree with you Freezin, if Freo had a Josh Kennedy, then I think that would be the difference between them winning a flag or not.

On another note, while I know it wont happen i wouldn't mind Mcpharlin at Full Forward for EF next year!!
Would be good for a lazy 40-50 goals I reckon and also be able to be swung into the back line.
