Looks like North Melbourne will rest up to 10 players this week. Freo setting the trends for the finals.

This is markedly different from the Freo request which has no bearing on final positions on the ladder. In contrast, the game that North Melbourne are playing is against another team in the top 8 and the result will impact on spots in the lower half of the 8, particularly with Adelaide battling for a home final. I would be surprised if the AFL agreed to this as it directly threatens the credibility of the competition as it could be seen that N Melb are trying to avoid having to go to Adelaide for their first final

I have just seen on the AFL website that this has been approved apparently. My question then is why bother having an integrity rule if it does not cover situations like this?

Perhaps the AFL could make these two teams play the other finalists TWICE next year. with beginning of the season & end of the season.
Collingwood did it a few years ago & got belted by Geelong. Pies top of the ladder but NO premiership as Cats kept belting them.
