They should be joined by Footscray - who should be given the option of moving to West Sydney
They should be further joined by NM - who should be given the option of moving to G Coast

16 teams playing the other 15 twice. Every game a blockbuster. Larger squads no byes.

Essendon should have to play 5 Melbourne based teams once a year in Canberra
Hawthorn should only play Melbourne based teams in Tassie.

Would cost quarter of a million people going thru the turnstiles if Essendon played 5 games a year in Canberra TFF . Conservatively that's about $10million per season in potential profit to the AFL and a million dollar loss in GST for the federal govt. Bad business decision then again in you are aligned like the AFL is with the Labor Party this would make perfect sense

West toast no longer play any blockbusters going by the lack of interest in the derby this weekend. The sport is not big enough in Qld or NSW to have weekly blockbusters. Even now there is only one or 2 blockbusters each week. The game is suffering big time due to the rolling maul and will be overtaken by soccer enthusiasm in our ever multicultural country if this style of game continues. Resembling rugby union more and more every season.

Was it just me or did I see some strange, strange, umpiring decisions in the game tonight.
Saints kicking was very shoddy, their disposal was very ordinary, they fumbled time and time again under pressure.
The Pies had to much experience and were much cleaner with the ball.
Could still be a very bleak winter for Saints fans.

I was of the same opinion that the saints would win. Was going to put money on them but ran out of time (thankfully!). They started well but then the Pies just strangled them and we saw the saints of last year again.
