He is a big man who would be an imposing figure in the middle, I just think he struggles a lot around the ground in play. Eagles midfielders probably stand taller next to him because most of them are still built like boys. Never going to win a premiership if you can't compete with the big bodied midfielders of the top teams

Nic nats ruck work was very good. He droppped 2 sodas in the backline which let the dogs in big time. Tap work is great, ZERO marks ( again) is NOT

Not too much to worry about NN Unka2 now that he will be working full time with it has been alleged the second best or best ruckman WA has ever produced. I suppose he couldn't have had much to do with him in previous seasons.

Interestingly S42 the last incarnation of the alignment/host club the Wiggles had the poorest seasons in their history & the current is heading down the same path despite there really only being a handful of decent sides in the AFL. I thought it was supposed to improve the club by being able to play all together from Reserves to Seniors?
I wonder how long this will continue as it shows up all the short comings of what is a very ordinary coaching group and they can no longer blame it on the fact they are coached by 9 different coaches across the WAFL!! :)

BH you only have to look at the progress and I use the term very loosely of NN whilst he has been under the coaching of the Eagles exclusively. Another example that you would be very aware of is the negative of one T Notte whilst he was under the exclusive 'coaching' of the Eagles.

The biggest joke will be if Peel manage to make the finals ABSOLUTELY no-one can possibly think that it was due to anything other than a Dockers' reserves team making the finals. Despite what the WAFC think, hope or delude themselves into believing the opposition to the host club alignment will not fade away. In fact it will only get more vociferous as more and more people become more and more disillusioned with the prostitution of the WAFL competition. If the WAFC thought that 11,000 was bad for the GF last year, they are potentially looking at a crowd of under 10,000 for this season's GF.

Interesting stats for the game. The Eagles got smashed with clearances and tackles. Eagles had more kicks but a lot less contested possessions. One Eagles player had 19 uncontested possessions and only 5 contested.(Guess who)

However with the stats being down in this area and the loss of Brown they only lost by 10 points in a very exciting game. Not time to panic yet

He is nearly 25, and very rarely does he take marks "around" the ground in general play, is that the "fault" of coasching

Your right west coast we're beat in stats I think that having only lost by 10 points is good especially playing average footy and losing (brown) but the forward line was the only reason west coast stayed in the game the back line can't afford to play like that especially when it comes to playing stronger opponents after all it was only the first round no panic just a bit worried is all.

Amazing how a thread about WCE backline automatically diverts to a dicussion about NicNat. For a first hit out I thought he did ok.

On topic, WCE backline is fucked. 2 of our 3 best key defenders out. I saw Brown in Leederville yesterday and it didnt look good. I guess we need to wait and see what the report says. Needless to say, McGovern is going to need to play out of his skin this year. I think he is more than capable though, I rate him highly.

young McGovern will be taking on a huge workload. Too much I think, it may burn him out if he isn't managed right. I think WCE are pushing poop up hill, a very injury prone club it seems. These days they are always chasing their tails & behind the eight ball before the season is really going. having said that north are last. we all have our problems.

as for NN, when he was rucking the eagles seems to win out of the centre. When the other young ruckman was on they got crucified. I thought NN played a good game. well done to the Bulldogs though. It was a great win for them, they have some go getters.
