I am not sure Motlop was 1005 from the start, he was a shadow of himself. Varcoe was very ordinary, as was Stokes.
When in the past Geelong have got into trouble players like Kelly, Bartel, Taylor and Enright, and maybe add Mackie to that list, have steered the ship to victory. But tonight I didn't think any of them gave a whimper.
Going to be interesting to see how the Harvey, Selwood clash goes before the MRP.
Also Have to say that Harvey has gone down even further in my estimations after the close to the fence tussle with Selwood, late in the game. I thought that Selwood was trying to protect Harvey from crashing into the fence ,yet Harvey attacked him. And let me say I am not a huge Selwood fan either.But I think Harvey was in the wrong on both counts.
I would have preferred to have been having this discussion with a far better headline than what we have. But I guess some can't help themselves.

Very fair summation a/man. our "champs" just aint what they used ter be. So be it. No flag for 44 years the 3 in 6 years, along with some great memories. Yeah we lost the best player in the comp, due to the AFL and a new franchise,yet sill been copetitive in the last 4 years. Thank god we held on because losing after being so dominant would have killed me. A fantastic win and now it gets tougher. But we have beaten the Swans in Sydney so don't write us off.

well done north. Made it harder than it needed to be in the end, but as stated above, Geelong never say die, and just keep coming. I thought Goldstein was great and also took that match saving mark at the end. And as always there is somebody who plays for the opposition that we love to hate, and it seems Harvey is it at North. I personally love the great memories he's given me over the years, but hey i'm biased. Just like you A/man, when it comes to Ballantyne!!

fair enough A/man, i can see to a point what your saying. I guess it is all how its costrued. I guess maybe now, for whatever reason, maybe he just doesn't like the attention anymore, and oppostion players know this and try to get under his skin. He is still playing good enough football to not let these things worry him. Bit like Ballantyne, and how players try to rile hime up. These sorts of players need to try and just get on with it.

I'm personally a big fan of Ballantyne and i reckon any side would love to have him. I think most peple feel a bit the same with regard to Harvey too.

I have no doubt he was and is a good player, you don't play that many games and not be good. But the older he gets the more precious he has become. He doesn't like any of the other players to test him out at any time now where as before he used to let it ride.

Both myself and my Geelong supporting mate both agree that the Scott brothers certainly do complain a lot!!

I agree that both Scotts are bloody whingers (wonder if they follow the Swans in the WAFL?)
As for the game, Norths were fantastic for 3 1/2 quarters. I think that Harvey is becoming a grumpy old man and is heading for a substantial 'holiday'. This said, I was pleased to see the Roos crack a big name in the finals. Can't see them winning next week, but I'll be on their side for sure.
