i must admit one of my Cometti highlights is every time a WA player gets the ball he names his WAFL club, he doesnt do it for the vic or sa blokes tho but thats ok as Dennis is from WA and is not biased.

All home based commentators show bias towards thier home state. 80% of the populations lives over east, so thats how thie commentating will work. Is it right probably NOT, will it change?, probably NOT. Its a bit like expecting commentators to show no bias towards the UNDERDOG team. Jst not gunna happen. Oh a/man was there anymore bias caller than G Grjlusich??

It was a bottom side thrashing a top side. Of course the commentary is going to favour the minnow a little bit. That's nothing new, I don't know where people have been the last 50 years. I watched GWS roll Sydney in round one, and the commentators were just the same. You didn't hear Swans people having a cry.

Spot on , its all about Business, commercial stations will play to an audience and its sponsors, they know most of the viewers and money are on the east coast so go for that. That will never change.

Not to mention the humnan natures of talking about where your from and what you know, Vic are more inclided to talk and hype up Vic teams SA and WA blokes there own states, they all do it , Ive heard some SA AFL blokes make several references to SANFL history etc out of the blue.

Also its only natural when a struggling bottom of the ladder team does a job on a top side most neutral people and commentaors will start rooting as the yanks say for the cellar dwellers to get up...its just human nature.

I remeber when the dockers were a basket case, plenty of the commentators would try to encourage them and build a bit of hype in their games.

Bullshit, they never gave us anything, only spoke about the Eagles and thats fair enough because they were successful.

Not one eyed much, I remember plenty of cheering from the commentary box on the rare occasion they put up a fight, Dennis Commetti was particuarly sympathetic.
