Should have made the stadium at least 70,000 maybe 80,000 to accommodate inter state visitors.

OHHHH MY GOD, i am agreeing with the A/Man :woohoo:

I always found footy more "enjoyable" to watch in Melb. Even in Geelongs halcyon years where i "thought" we might be victorious against the Eagles or Dockers, i refused to go due to the lack of what i call funny/GENUINE banter etc ( as experiended in WAFL games i have attended).

And my point is that there are far too many who actually drop out from playing at the second level as well.
Far too many teams.but will only get worse with the AFL wanting another two teams.

It was just an example mate that just because someone is a top 20 pick, it doesnt necessarily mean they will have a better AFL career than someone who is a lower pick. As for the people who made it at AFL level in the same draft as Grant, I am sure probably 50 or so players had a viable career in the sport (this is just a guess, i cant be arsed researching).

Agree Baz its very solid after just 2 years. Winning helps as well of course.

Also their name "Wanderers" is far more palatable & logical considering the general quota of people there are variable in a sense... "Giants" which has no relevance at all and the abbreviated term GWS fails to connect with the area.

The AFL didn't do their homework there, which is hardly suprising. It is vital that the AFL market this football club as "West Sydney" not the try hard sounding "GREATER Western Sydney" or lazy "GWS".

And the nick name "GIANTS" is nothing but an American thing. Not a winner in that area of Sydney and never will be. A name like the "Crusaders" or "Warriors" would have been more befitting, albeit they are used in the rugby circles. It could still work .

Agree with this. I wouldnt be surprised if the next 2 teams are called the Red Sox and the Packers

I think a lot of players that don't make it could reasonably be attributed to a coaching panels inability. Jack Watts for example. How would he be right now if he was picked up by the Hawks or Power or the Dockers...

It is a bit more of an apprenticeship at the Hawks with most of their newbies not getting a game until 4 years in. Hence their instance quality appearance.
