Sam is a dickhead who will say some SA guy is the best he has seen when he is in Adelaide next time.

Havn't watched a minute of the vfl show in 6 or 7 years. No one in wa should either.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

For all his buffoonery, he is just selling himself and laughing all the way to the bank. If you listen to him talk seriously about football, he knows more than almost anybody in the media. I respect the fact he is himself & people can please themselves.

He has always idolised Polly Farmer, that is no secret. He has always talked about how Bob Davis went to all sorts of extremes to get him away from Perth Oval to Kardinia Park. Trying to track down a contact at East Perth back in the 60's wasn't so easy, so he simply rang the Perth Exchange and asked for Graham Farmer. They instantly put him through because everyone here knew where Polly was.

An East Perth legend, Geelong Legend & in the end extended success at West Perth. We have produced the best here in WA. Newmans acknowledgment shouldn't be discredited based on his antics. He is a very educated man. And apparently extremely generous in his personal life.

Sam has said all along Polly is the best there has been.

I think its a case of you either love him or hate him.

I haven't even mentioned my thoughts on Poly Farmer. All I am saying is that Sam and the rest of the Footy show hosts are shit house commentators on footy.

Jardine put it correctly when he mentioned Buffoonery. Cant stand the footy show and my point was and is that all of those morons will play to the local crowd. I did not make a slight on Polly, just on Sam and the like.

Sam played with Polly he would be well versed in knowing what sort of footballer Polly was.

Pete, I can see you don't understand.

My comment has nothing to do with Poly Farmer or his ability to play football.

I refer to the buffoonery of Sam Newman and the rest of the footy show morons.

No hard feelings.

There is an excellent biography of graham farmer by the author steve hawke. It is hard to overstate the impact polly had at geelong and is regarded as their greatest recruiting coup. His first practise match for them attracted 20,000 people. Polly was certainly one of the spearheads of the 1963 premiership and is generally regarded to have been best afield in the grand final.

In regards to the footy show why should no one in W.A watch it?

Another EP champ in J.K Watts played in that Geelong Premiership.
"In fact he won it for them" as Watsy always used to say
in his humorous tongue in cheek way.

Loved Watsy . Was a great personality. Really miss the likes of him on the footy airwaves.
