Sydneys $$$ advantage & Franklin coup will be a blight on the AFL for the next 10 years. This, along with the Essendon fiasco is a clear indication of a half cocked organisation that gets bitten in the bum everytime. Because of its own inadequacies and short sightedness.

About time that the allowance was taken away. Sydney really have been giving the bird to the rest of the AFL teams. Talk about rorting the system.

Yes agree it is a joke. What were they getting, something like 10% extra? I see the idea in it, but surely that must be reviewed year on year and percentages also given to other states if it was to continue. I am happy that it is gone.

Will this sting Sydney. Will they have salary cap pressure? I think they will, especially with the most recent contract. I believe they will have a hard time keeping their players (which in previous years they haven't had a hard time at all). And yes I am still bitter about 2005.
