surely Carlton have to look at it and would be great for the kid to be able to play for the team he supports. If Boyd is that good why would GWS even consider giving him up though.

Maybe Buddy has already comitted to GWS and they dont need that extra tall forward as they already have a couple at there disposal plus you throw Buddy in the mix they can swap that No1 pick for 1 or 2 experienced players.
Plus GWS are going fishing to see what/who clubs are willing to give up to get that No 1 pick.

GWS have enough players that were first round draft picks, they are offering the number one pick for a mature ruckman and midfielders, like 30plus says their forward line is just about covered, Boyd would probably be surplus to their needs.

Boyd to Carlton for possibly Lucas / Warnock / Gibbs, they can have Laidler, Joseph, Ellard & Duigan too..

So the big question is who trades for the pick...Carlton should...who else?

Its Buddy. Will be used as part of the negotiation. Hawthorn will demand pick 1 as part of the trade anyway!

Buddy is a restricted free agent, Hawks cant demand pick 1..

Agreed. I think they will look for an experienced midfielder or defender.
