Privately, Sheedy still feels more than a little slighted with the process. He doesn't think he was ever really considered. reported by Glenn McFarlane From: Sunday Herald Sun June 23, 2012 11:30PM

Lyon has accused Kevin Sheedy of fabricating stories surrounding his unsuccessful application to be Melbourne coach in 2007. Reported in The Age by andrea petrie Monday July 13, 2009

He was an unsuccessful applicant for the Melbourne coaching position after leaving Essendon in 2007, with the job going to Dean Bailey. Reported today by Ben Guthrie on the afl website.

Could it be that sheeds applied for the dees coaching position back in 2007?
Ruddi,to a point I see,but who cares what others think.
I am a Mad Dockers supporter and if I stopped posting because of all the weird crap some say about my team I wouldn't be here now.
We all have our teams so why not support them. TFAF is entilted to his opinion whether you like it or not.If you don't like it ignore it.But you should still post.
This is a football forum and what would it be like if we all wouldn't post because of others thoughts or opinions.Do you refuse to talk to people who disagree with you generally!!
It is the old thing I have been talking about. There are too many teams in Melbourne for sure, and I think you will agree. But let other teams be the ones to move or merge,as long as it isn't mine.
My point was that this was a congratulations thread for two milestones for the North Melbourne footy club. I put my congrats to theses two good players, and what ended up happening? It got to being about the fact that north shouldn't be in the comp etc...
Just peeved me off! Asking silly questions about not talking to people who disagree with me is rubbish. I never said people weren't entitled to their opinions, or couldn't post what they like. TFAF has spoken before about this, in different threads and I don't have a problem with it. Like you said, he's entitled to his opinion. I choose not to get into arguments, as I don't believe it gains anything, hence why I don't post much about the team I support. That's my choice.

I just didn't believe that it was needed to be said in this particular thread, that's all.

fair enough, however some people just like to argue.

I think Gold Coast are a real chance to defeat Nth this week (unfortunatley). Especially at their home ground. The roos will need to be at their best. The way Gold coast played Saturday night at Geelong was very impressive.
If North play like they did in the first quarter against the Saints, they'll go all right. I didn't see it as i was at the freo derby, however from all accounts, they were very impressive.

Only in the first quarter. After that they were competitive, however the damage was done. Always hard to come back from 55 points down at quarter time, however against North, they would of fancied their chances.

Well done to North for not choking this time.
