The final round is upon us and with finals still on the way, things are not over and for all those loyal followers of not only the PFL but also MrM (DrM for you devotees) he will be bringing you some finals action. Even though we all know some would be happy to see the back of MrM he will still be here and let’s face it, deep down you all enjoy it as well.
Off the field, well MrM could not be happier, MrM sitting on the couch thinking, perhaps some respite, some down time, prepare myself and get ready for a big September full of action, only to find that the World Athletics Championships start next week, and this can occupy MrM attention. Mixed in with the fact September is the Silly Season for us all and its promising to be a busy few weeks ahead indeed.
Alright let us look into this weekend action.
Trinity Aquinas v Wanneroo @Bill Grayden Reserve
Well, the big bad TA’s boys have bullied their way into another home game somehow and unsure if they will notice, given they currently rule the land sitting on top of the ladder, this should be a nice tune up game for them. However, the Wanneroo boys cannot be counted out and MrM will tell you why. MrM is an ardent scripture reader and MrM will tell you about a little story Samuel has written about two gents call David and Goliath. MrM isn’t actually going to educate you too much, as we all know how that story turned out and we all know history has a habit of repeating itself (Split Enz are wrong). So, get your smooth rocks ready and watch the Philistines flee in what is expected to be monumental victory.

University v Kingsway @UWA Sports Park
The Uni boys had a good win last weekend and with a win this weekend, would see them getting themselves home field advantage in the finals and depending on other results, could move up to third. Kingsway have faltered in recent weeks, but you never know what will happen this weekend or into the finals. It promises to be a good game for all to see, and at home, the 123 Uni boys are we will be too good.

North Beach v Mount Lawley @Charles Riley Reserve
The Beach boys missing finals is nearly as rare as a solar eclipse, yet we all feel the same, a rare, yet wonderful occurrence, it is no secret though, they have struggled for consistency and player turnover each week is high. They will want a good showing here though as last time the Beaufort Bandits gave them a hiding. Meanwhile the Beaufort Bandits have done what they needed to do and stayed in A Grade and will enjoy chairing off a retiree brother of destruction for about the 6th time in his career. At home, it’s the beach boys by a few kicks.
North Beach by 3 goals
Curtin University Wesley v West Coast @South Oval
Last weekend saw Curtin Uni have a fine tune up game and if you think it is going to be different this weekend, then you will need to think again. Meanwhile West Coast, obviously not the season they envisaged and unfortunately for them this weekend will be a tough one to finish on as well. Could go either way, and yes MrM is just talking about the coin toss, as not doubt here.

Scarborough v Fremantle C.B.C @Millington Oval
You could sense the disappointing for the Scarborough players last weekend when they lost after the siren to the Beach Boys, and it has been an overall disappointing season for them. Meanwhile they face a side in Freo CBC looking to hang onto third spot on the ladder with a win and get ready for another shot at finals. It will be an interesting game, someone to wear a clash strip here please. It will be a tough day for Scarborough though, fitting finish however as it is there modus operandi in 2023.

Good luck all.
