What a fantastic time it was last weekend not having to worry about any A Grade Football, and MrM (DrM for all the followers) could focus on more important things, like watching a team full of majority of A Grade footballers, take on the VAFA best. MrM had a good time focussing on the football and less about what soils to use on his garden as he tuned into local talkback radio as well, as is the many talents of MrM. A good effort from the PFL, not in MrM top 5 games of all time, but a good game, nonetheless.

Away from the field though, as highlighted in the past weeks, has there ever been a better time to watch sport than right now, July is truly the pinnacle of sports all around the world, well in MrM eyes at least.  As MrM enjoys his early commute on this once again nippy morn, he thinks, have all these hours of sleep been wasted, MrM says nay, hook it into MrM veins.

Alright let us look at this weekend fixtures.

Kingsway v West Coast @Kingsway Reserve

If Kingsway win this weekend and another result go there way, they can all but assure themselves of a finals berth in season 2023. Where they will finish, well that is entirely up to them. West Coast on the other hand is still in reach of avoiding relegation and will want to put their best foot forward in doing so. Should be a fascinating game, Kingsway at home, too good though.

North Beach v Curtin University Wesley @Charles Riley Reserve

If the Beach Boys are still wanting to play finals, then this is a big weekend for them as they look to push their case. They have had mixed results all season, and they face a Curtin Uni side who will be out to push their case for a Top3 spot on the ladder. The battle of the tigers will never fail to disappoint, but away form home it will be the student tiger to get over the line.

Mount Lawley v Wanneroo @Inglewood Oval

Surprisingly, Mount Lawley can still be relegated, but can put that to rest with a win this weekend. They were there and there abouts last game, but just could not get over the line. They face a Wanneroo side this weekend though, who needs to win to keep their season alive in 2023. Always a good contest against between these two sides and will be a tough slog on a tough oval to play on. Season on the line, backs against the wall, everyone expecting a Hawk win, MrM has seen this before, last September, so will go with.

Trinity Aquinas v Scarborough @Bill Grayden Reserve

The TA’s boys continue to look like the team to beat in season 2023 and at this point are just fine tuning their game plan as they build towards finals. They do however have a few games ahead against teams with nothing to lose, and the first, that comes this weekend against Scarborough. Scarborough need a win this weekend, like many teams, and with it all to play for you never know what could happen. It will be a tough game, but at home, TA’s will be too good.

Fremantle C.B.C v University @Morris Buzacott Reserve

This is the big game of the round as these two old rivals face off in an important game in the scheme of things. Freo CBC will be happy after they came from behind last game to get a win, which see them hold onto their place in the Top5 regardless of results this weekend. They face a Uni side, who may have lost a few due to holidays, however, cannot be counted out. This game may determine who finishes Top 3, but also who may get a home final when it is all said and done. MrM going with an upset here, Uni away from home to get it done.

Good luck this weekend all.

Hanging on to last September game still. It was good reading your posts each week for A grade this year. I am sure the followers of B grade will enjoy them as much again next year. More of a chance now of getting your tips right with tipping Wanneroo every week, next year....
