We are back again and week 3 is amongst us with some oddities to show for it. How often does a ladder change mid-week? Well, it did this week, as West Coast seemingly lost all their points for Round 1, after who knows why, MrM is happy to speculate though, and readers, feel free to speculate too. The A Grade competition is heating up too and looking as close as ever, so if you’re not on, it may not be your week to win.
Off the field, well MrM is just talking to himself at this stage, so if people want to join in with MrM feel free to, otherwise MrM is just another lonely bandit in these empty carriages on the way to the coal mines. Some very interesting games this week let us take a look.
Kingsway v Wanneroo @Kingsway Reserve
The big game here for both sides, Kingsway will want to bounce back after a loss last weekend to North Beach and while Wanneroo, they need to build on last week’s encouraging performance and keep that momentum rolling along. Usually, a bit of feeling in this game, usually stirred up by a team because they have to wear teal week in week out, but hard to go against the Roo’s here.

University v Curtin University Wesley @UWA Sports Park
The battle of the Uni’s here and it is going to be a very good game indeed. Uni looking quite good so far in season 2023 and talks of them slipping could be somewhat overplayed, where Curtin Uni stumbled to a very good team last weekend and will not want that to happen again. I think Curtin Uni will be up and firing here and get over the line this weekend.

Trinity Aquinas v Mount Lawley @Bill Grayden Reserve
The Ta’s boys got their first win last weekend and know they will on improve from them with a big strong lineup, but things will not come easy against Mount Lawley searching for their first win. The Beaufort street bullies are still wanting a win this season and came agonisingly close last week but face another tough task this weekend. I think TA may just have too much firepower upfront this weekend.

Fremantle C.B.C v North Beach @Morris Buzacott Reserve
Two undefeated teams so far this season battle in what will be a very good game. Freo CBC seem to have picked up where they left last season and are their for everyone else to chase along the way. Where North Beach are right back in the conversation of teams to beat in 2023, with 2 strong showings. Will definitely be a tough hard fought game, can see CBC at home, getting it done though.
Fremantle C.B.C by 2 goals
West Coast v Scarborough @City Beach Oval
After losing all their points scored for Round 1, West Coast have slipped to the bottom of the table, which makes this game interesting as it is now 10 v 9 not 9 v 10. It has been a tough start to the season for West Coast and it will not get easier as they come up against a Scarborough side, starving to win. Many would not have tipped Scarborough to be 0-2 and they will not want to fall to 0-3, so MrM is tipping a win in the battle of the beaches here.
Scarborough by 4 goals
Good luck to all.
