It is time to dust of the ole typewriter and get back into all things football. For those who are new, welcome along to the MrM show (DrM for those playing at home, but could not work out how to change the name here, so MrM stays). We talk football and things that catch MrM eye, having earnt a promotion last season, MrM is going to be rolling in off the long run and ready to start with a bang. If you do not agree with what MrM has said best keep it to yourself.
MrM cannot wait for Round 1, in fact in his daily commute to the coals mines each day, MrM sits and ponders about what life would be without football. During the summer MrM noticed more local clubs living streaming their cricketing matches, and this could be one of the great inventions in society, how else would we have seen a former international cricket slap the first slip over the head with his bat as he walked off for not many in his clubs Grand Final? It is truly innovative stuff.Enough boring talk let us look at this weekend, and seeing MrM has no idea on football (or life if you ask some clubs) this could be a rough start.
Scarborough v Curtin University Wesley @Millington Oval
Scarborough may be disappointed with their results last season, but that would be nothing on Curtin Uni Wesley who will also be disappointed in how they faired in the last game in 2022. If the rumours are true, and Scarborough are flying along, I think at the Mill they will be a good chance. Cannot count Curtin Uni though, especially when they had a former AFL player umpiring a scratch match, unmatchable depth. MrM is going to with Scarborough at home

Kingsway v Mount Lawley @Kingsway Reserve
Kingsway are another who will want a better season this season, but you never know with the Teal wearing Roos, new coach and some names coming down, may bring back the 2021 feeling to the club. The Lawley boys will another who will be disappointed with their showing in the final game of the 2022 season and this is a good chance for them to make a statement early in the year. MrM smells an upset and its going to be the Beaufort Street Bandits winning in a tight one.

University v Wanneroo @UWA Sports Park
Someone correct MrM if he is wrong here, but Uni out in straight sets last season? That will be a feeling the 123 Uni boys are we, won’t want to feel again, but given their Colts and youth, MrM knows they will bounce back. Meanwhile Wanneroo, fresh off a winning season last season, pose a real threat to Uni here in MrM eyes. It will be a fascinating tussle. MrM was going to go with the upset, but cant see it happening this week.

West Coast v North Beach @City Beach Oval
West Coast handled themselves well last season on their return to A Grade, but will need to step it up if they are wanting to do it all again this season. They face a tough task, as the boys from the beach are looking the goods from reports. Should be a fabulous contest and can see North Beach being superior.

Fremantle C.B.C v Trinity Aquinas @Morris Buzacott Reserve
The battle of the schools, the unfurling of the flag for CBC and this is going to be a good Saturday indeed. CBC won it all last season and everyone will be chasing them again this season it seems. The Ta’s boys will know things wont come easy this week and will have to stop the dangerous CBC forward line. Will be another great contest and unfortunately there can only be one winner. (It could be a draw, but no fence sitting here) so lets go with who are who are who are we to win,

Good luck to all.
