Good to see the Eagles recognize they have a midfield with the speed of a Morris Minor.  Be interesting to see if the kids they drafted to fill the mids step up.

Hang on 58, my first car was a Morry minor 1000, went like the clappers .... down hill, a bit like the eagles.

Great to watch Rueben Ginbey play against the bigger bodies and acquit himself very well. Interesting that Hewitt is kept for the end of games rather being allowed to play longer and get a proper feel for the pace and game plan.

Seems that the weagles are going to struggle once again without a number one ruckman, mmmm perhaps Broadbent was an opportunity lost!

Pathetic effort by WC v the only team that finished below them last year, didn't see much of any change to their obsolete game plan, not sure the coach has much imagination. Their tackling efforts were like turnstiles as the Roos just run through them especially in the first half. They did put in after halftime but so many mistakes, North were slightly better as they took the game on and were much more positive. After seeing The D's, the Pies, Geelong and Port, WC are not streets behind, they are suburbs away from being competitive based on that effort.

Bias yep, Ginbey was good and will only get better, Hewitt has to be given an opportunity soon, they need his flair and willingness to play outside the box.

Lets face it, WC can only improve, surely cant get any worse. Yeo and Nic will make a big difference, Nic especially, the young rucks we had struggled against a part timer after Norths only ruckmen went off injured early. 

Well, it certainly looks like the Eagles have picked up a few beauties in the draft.  I’d love to see how they’d go if they had a few of their first picked available.  I reckon they could climb up 3 or 4 spots with a full compliment.  Still, getting the young ones fast tracked may be a bonus.

As I said on another thread 58Shark I was impressed with the way those young guys fought out the game today and they will improve with experiences like that. That big ruckman (Wiliams?) has improved out of sight.
Shuey is a real concern though with his injury issues

Yeh mike, Williams has really stepped up.  Wouldn’t mind betting NN is tutoring him.  As for Shuey, sad to say he probably won’t last the season.  Still, he can be a good mentor forthe kids.
