Important game for both sides this Saturday as early wins in such a close season are vital.Both sides can mount a strong argument for winning but the midfield battle I think will decide the game.SF have a tall and strong forward line with the Strom brothers looking good against an undersized WP backline so the WP midfield cutting off supply is important.Hopefully the bye has allowed some relief for our injured players and a few come back (especially Kernutt).Another tight match and SF have a really good record at Joondalup so no gimme’s here.
On a slightly different tack when is the Italian team of the century named?I think the SF and WP clubs should dominate the selections (with maybe a few EF players chucked in) so should be interesting.

All points spot on Fed. Unfortunately I have a Wedding to attend and won't make this game, my night will be made a lot better if we can get up. I dont think Pegs will get up for this one, Kernutt a chance possibly.' Hobley due back from work commitments either this or next week and Johnson touch and go. Moults should return this week though to add a little bit of height and experience. I was told the Hamilton had announced his retirement ?

The reinforcements haven’t shown up like I’d hoped.No Moulton in either League or Reserves although Lynch named in Ressies and none of our previously listed injured guys playing again.Bit of a worry for the long term.Well it’s up to the young guys to put their best foot forward and show us what they’ve got and really can’t be disappointed with what they’ve done so far.Another learning curve for the future.Tight game again and hopefully we get over the line.

Nine senior players to return next week, we bloody need them. Souths hit targets, their spread like how Swans play was fast and loose. We played into the pockets over and over again, Melbourne won a GF by playing in the pockets, but we had nine seniors out, especially our backline missed Moulten / Pegs and Johnson. The reserves had four sixteen-year-olds, that's why they got belted. We played ok, but Souths were so much cleaner, faster and they played a short game so they could control the game on their terms. Peel next week, need those players.

Glad I missed this one, had bugger all reception for most of the game but without those mentioned by Winger we will finish at my predicted 8th. We have NO tall backs in league and reserves, no cigar this season so might as well play some talented kids in the league. We have a tall kid in the Colts, big kid so lets play him.

Yeah good one to miss Whinnen.Winger summed it up pretty well with Souths spread and we were chasing tail most of the day.Although we kicked 4.4 in the first quarter I thought it was disappointing because all we did was bomb the ball into the forward line with the hope of taking the mark.No raising the eyes and finding the lead etc.Lucky we’ve got a class player like Keitel there otherwise we would have had problems.Only 2 goalkickers on the day and one of De Marte’s goals was from a free kick and 50m penalty.That won’t win too many games.I thought a couple of players were down especially Meadows and Hinder is short of a run.At least we are getting games into the youngsters but our defence is really undermanned with Long just starting and Koopah Todd having to pinch hit in defence.Hope you’re right about those reinforcements Winger we will definitely need them.Still you have to admire the effort so far- we haven’t been blown away so the spirit is there.

Interesting to read WP played 4  16 yr olds in their reserves, yet had their full quota of 19 yr olds (3) playing in their colts side.....always scratches my head why a club would do that, from a player development perspective....bit rough on those 16 yr olds me thinks.

yep, 4 sixteen-year-olds also played in the seconds against scabiaco. loved the inverted jumper and also the introduction of the umpires before game. That jumper should be used more often.

Who were the four 16 year olds? Youngest player looked to be 18 turning 19 later this season? 

Still scratching my head why WP coaching team, would let a multitude of 18 -19 yr olds play colts, and then let 4  x 16 yr olds play reserves.....doesn't make sense at all.
