LOL, All of the above comments are subject to whatever set of accounts are presented are thy not?. Or paper bag. In my opinion the good ship wafl is slowly leaving the harbour. A sad day.

The Perth Footy League will soon dominate the landscape anyway. It has 60+ solvent and profitable member clubs. It makes a hell of a lot of money with a base big enough to weather any tough period, Is well supported, and seems to be growing tentacles around junior clubs in ways a wafl club could never dream of. Minimal reliance for outside funding. Not stuck in the past. Seems irresistible.

As ya mate Rocky is prone to say don't worry it will be ok, 5 of the clubs are solvent without WAFC bailouts, the others are all working hard on their future, 2 or 3 three years will see most still on the landscape.

You obviously haven’t been involved in an Amateur Club Bazza. Most Amateur clubs get by on the bones of their rear end and a lot very close to broke and have the same 2/3 blokes running the clubs. Most WAFL clubs would have a larger cash turnover than all 60 clubs combined

True, but I was more thinking of a Perth Football League down the track replacing the WAFL with a few surviving WAFL clubs and a few larger Ams clubs , the WAFL as we know it wont be going forever.

Jords, that is Bullcrapola. WAFL clubs might have a larger turnover but they have larger expenses that in all cases exceed their income that history proves again and again leads to debt that i don"t need to harp on about. Most Perth Football League clubs post healthy annual profits on the back of no funding from their governing body, the AFL or State Government. Jeez when was the last time you heard that a ammo club went bust or called in the creditors ? Melbourne sustains a VFL second tier comp in a population pool of 4+ million people. Perth is a pimple compared. My hope is that the powers to be stop rooting our local footy ecosystem by finally pruning the wafl tree and replanting the orchard like that have been bullshittin us about for 10 years. There is a solution we just need administrators that will do the job they are supposed to do instead of paralysing the footy system with their inaction. How long ago was the Boston Consulting report???? The Parker report, The Fong Report and they are the ones we know about......FFAARRKK

MarkOlsen do not be so naive. The Ammo clubs are run by some pretty sharp characters. Reporting payments is only a procedural thing. The Ammo clubs have a lot more reporting to comply with for their league then you appear to know. This includes presenting financial reports and a load of compliance information.

I would think that if any one of the numerous wafl clubs that have had to be bailed out by the wafc, government, afl or their own sponsors had the same level of scrutiny they might be in better shape.

As i have said the good ship wafl as we know it is leaving the harbour, the question is, is it to late to turn it around?

do you reckon some blokes in the ammos want the ATO to know how much they get paid ?
that would have to happen if the WAFL went bust as it would be a fight to get the best players and that means $$, we used to have a sunday league in Perth and that went bust.

Bullwinkle you are talking absolute drivel.
I have extensive involvement at WAFL & Amateur level and let me assure you the scrutiny on WAFL clubs is much much greater,
