2009 was a good season and sadly has gone downhill from there. So much so in fact to last seasons dismal attendance figure which shows a minus 25.3% drop from 2009 to last season. And this current seasons crowd figures are looking poor too.
If that is not raising concerns, why not!?

Yep 2009 was the last roll of the dice for wafl crowd wise , nearly 12k at a home amd away game foundation day , we will never see that again.

And yet conversely, from 2004 to 2009 which is six seasons, there was an increase of 27% in the total qualifying round attendances. That equates to an average 4.56 percent increase per season twenty for 05, 06, 07, 08 and 09. And then the slippery slide begins!

Take out the 6k crowd vs WP in the free admittance International game and you would be right back where you always are near the bottom of the pile in attendances.....and this from a team that has barely lost a game in 5 years could you imagine how big the WAFL crowds would be if SD (who are 2nd averaging nearly 2k despite YET ANOTHER piss poor season), Perth or WP had won 90% of their games in a 5 year period?...we might not be worried about the future of the WAFL if that were the case!

Maths is not your strong point is it Einstein? Take out the 5600 from the game at Joondy and it gives Subi a total attendance of 24,240 over 12 games at an average of 2,020 which is still better than Swans average....idiot.

Swans average is actually 2062 without the West Perth game as that game currently has an attendance of 0, all of Subiaco’s games have an attendance figure and I stated that the attendances for this round have not yet been added to the wafl site yet.

Obviously "Albert" BC cant read at all waflfootyfacts as you did post that quite clearly for all to see bar an "idiot" it would seem!
More to the point I wonder what the home ground averages are this season as that is usually a good indicator for example when SD played SU at Basso a month or so back of the nearly 4k at the game there would have been 200 SU supporters there tops and that is despite being unbeaten and with a near 90% winning record since 2014...quite pathetic support really!

Yep there was a gradual up tick to a great year in 2009, its been all downhill since then , to epic collapse now, it will only get worse I'm afraid, the aged demographic means the last 1000 or so that go along each week to each club will be about 80 0r 90 in 10- 20 years time. On current trend I would expect average attendances to be around the 500 mark by 2028. Mainly players mums, dad and girlfriends.

I think the Wafl will be lucky of lasting in 10- 20 years time? Gives me no joy to say :(
The decline seems to be being ignored by the media etcetera and etcetera. Strong action should have been taken long before this! It's quite clear attendances were steadily increasing nicely prior to the 2010 season. Then the 2010 to the current season has seen attendances fall off the proverbial cliff !!
Have noticed the attendances for last weekends matches are most embarrassing.
Some of the matches cannot even attract a thousand spectators! Whilst another minimally and minutely just scrapes past the thousand figure. Given the population of the metro area reportedly being over two millon, those attendance figures are bloody hopeless.

I think there is a big soccer match being played in Perth tonight (on a work day cold possibly very wet Monday night)
One of the English clubs (Chelsea I think?) playing Perth Glory.
Is going to be very interesting to learn of the attendance of said match.
If the attendance is far greater than a Wafl match attracts, the local footy is done and dusted.

There will at least 30,000 going WAG and I heard 55,000 mentioned yesterday but I don't think necessarily relates to the demise of the WAFL rather the big expat contingent in Perth.

wag...I don't think you can compare the two as Chelsea has a global brand and following to boot. I think around 50,000 tickets have been sold but the weather might scare a few away from actually turning up. To compare it to a WAFL match is like putting an Ashes test to grade cricket in Perth...they're completely different beasts.
