I have been told that I need move on from the WAFL I followed; so that is what I will be doing in 2019.

1995 2003 2005 2017. 2005 we finished top and only lost 2 games then went out badly in straight sets. 95 03 farkn joondy. 17 we blew that one. Ark 82 losing the irreplaceble Bucky plus Hamilton moving back to the ferals without any significant ins, we were always going to go backwards. Bill Valli slowed down and was a shadow of 81 and big melville was very good in 81 but virtually didn't play 82. All things considered I didn't expect us to be that bad though

DG: I agree 100 per cent on 1982, any loss or wooden spoon stays with you longer then what winning does. At the start of that year, one or two pundits had us making the four -- and naturally all Subi people were optimistic -- but as you wrote with aplomb DG, I don't know how given the players we lost. As well as the players you mentioned, you could add the following, whom lost form, left the club or were injurred:

Schultz
Reeves
Murray
Munro
Fussell
Meirs got suspended
Polson
Bucknall

which, when you put them together with the players you listted, is over half of a league football side; more players, to put it into perspective, then the club lost in 1987.You can't finish fifth in one season, lose such talent the next, and expect to do well in strong competition as we found out to our pain every week. I suppose we can be thanful for having won one game and being competitive most weeks? I will never forget 1982.
