......and Freezin says......

more fool SD for gifting EF that 1965 flag.....

77, 86 & 97 were EF greatest GF disappointments in my life time as an EF fan...a monumental thrashing, a monumental dacking and a monumental Spalding implosion in that order......

80-82, the Dunbar years and post Malaxos sacking to the current Wiley years have been EF greatest disappointments in my life time as an EF fan.....

The slow painful cancerous decline of the WAFL since 87 to where it is today, is probably the biggest disappointment in my life time as an EF and WAFL fan TBH.........

probably hard for you to believe those sentiments of mine 42.... but come end of the day I am still a WAFL fan regardless of my differing opinions to yours and where I pay my taxes and council rates.....just came to terms with it all a bit sooner than you did mate....30 years sooner it seems...

Simple - 2000, 2001 & 2002 - and then the last 5 years

2003, 1995, 1975, 1971, 1969, 1960
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Great topic AR

From my perspective looking through black and white glasses

1975 - Swans finished top two but were destroyed by West Perth in the 2nd semi and ended going out in straight sets

1981 - Swans had such a record breaking season but couldnt even make the Grand Final because there were two other outstanding teams that year.
1985 - preliminary final. This was a realisation that a great Swans era had come to an end and the baton was passed to Subiaco.
After the 1990 premiership there were a number of seasons (1991- 94 I think)where we had a good team and looked promising but were never able to produce in finals.

2011 premiership hangover was disappointing
Preliminary final 2012 -loss to EF at Bassendean was hard to take
2016 - horrible season for all Swans fans

There are too many disappointing seasons from Perth to mention but it seems every year after we just miss out on a finals berth when we expect to progress the next year we disappoint. 2004 and 2005 was one of the biggest disappointments for me. In 2004 we had a good middle of the season and spent a brief time in the top 4 or 5 I think it might have been then before falling away with some big losses. I think it was 2005 we picked up Jarrod Kayler-Thompson and Warren Carlyle and things looked good in pre season but we lost our opening game to Subi at home by 25 goals and only managed 3 wins for the season.

Magro was pre occupied with suing Fremantle for a broken promise years earlier and that was his last season in charge.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Only ever seen one game I went back home disappointed with a season end - 1981 Grand Final second quarter blitz of Claremont for a return of 4.12 had a machine gun midfield and somehow still lost , it was one of our strongest ever sides

1987 - the start of the decline as crowds drop away drastically.

2018 - 18 home and away games littered with byes and 2 teams playing current AFL listed players.

Southerner should of won that GF.But that Claremont 1981 side was a super team.Kicking cricket scores every week..3 power forwards all over 80 goals.Jimmy+ Phil hitting the scoreboard an well as the forwards chests with passes. But there was no bigger big game player than Magic Maurice.Leon Baker no2 behind Maurice for big game performances.

Actually I forgot 2015 as well. Swans had snuck into the top 5 with a brilliant win over Claremont at Bassendean in round 22 but had the bye in the last round while Claremont took the spot back again by beating West Perth at Joondalup!

2019: it will be the first season I most likely won't be following the WAFL.
