AR you forgot to ask about St George's 11 consecutive GF victories. The pertinent point AR is that the WAFL is struggling to survive and the host club alignment and Subiaco's dominance are two major contributing factors and the other major contributing factor is the WAFC's motives and decisions that speak directly to wanting to destroy the WAFL.

As I have pointed out previously the WAFC are more concerned about the demise of Subiaco Oval than the demise of the WAFL clubs and competition.

Will have a few as well , Wafl dong a lot of pushing plus cheap prices but don't know if that will
Be enough to over come a boring repeat of last year.

If they get 15,000 it will be good.

Whilst I can understand if you are a supporter of one of the clubs in the lower grades' GFs you would want to go to the GF; the best thing that could happen is if the crowd is under 10,000. Maybe then the WAFC might get the message. Though I would recommend one holding one's breath in anticipation.

Well swan, another of those very rare moments, I agree!!

Swan 42: Thanks for teminding me about St. George in the the NSW Rugby League. Did they change the rules of the game to stop them from winning?

Did you you see that Burley state jumper?

Now back to the Commission -- as we have discussed, I would support major changes. the top three would be:

ending the alignment
70 per cent zone quota for each match
and a salary cap which favours the bottom sides

What you will find though Swan 42, I think, is that most board members of the clubs, the members of the clubs, the supporters of the clubs, the sponsors of the clubs, to say nothing of most of the members on this website, there is little doubt in my mind, would oppose such changes.

Sadly, I believe Dorrington when he syas that not many clubs complainned about Peel last year.

In other words, Swan 42, we need to embark on a mssive propoganda campaign to change public opinion.

I am sorry I don't believe that the clubs didn't complain about the host club alignment. Let's not forget Peel is Dorrington's love child. It is simply unbelievable that the WAFC were not aware of the opposition to the host club alignment. As part of their brief they should be aware of forums such as this and even a very cursory examination of the posts on this site would have removed any doubts about the opposition to the host club alignment.

With respect to a massive propaganda campaign what better start than to have the WAFC estimate/goal/DELUSION of 30,000 to be out by 20,000?

Swan 42: The reason I think the clubs were a bit mutted in thier response to the Peel question, quite simply, was because it would have looked bad, poor form. The more sinister reason was that each club takes 100K, as you know to put up with the alignment.

Also, just so I can stress how much some people see the alignment from very different points of view from you or I, consider, once again, the position of Subiaco. My club has never complainned about Peel never mind EP, ever. In fact, the President, of the day, from what other Subi guys have said on here, allegedley tried to ally my club with the Eagles. Think about that Swan 42: he was running a club which had won many premierships in recent years and had plenty of money, and yet, still allegedley considerred the alignment .

Do you think someone, such as that, will really be that overly botherred if the Lions lose to Peel next week.

I can't speak to the Subiaco comments AR but to my knowledge the WAFC has certainly been made aware of Swans's opposition to the host club alignment. As far as I am concerned it is a complete non sequitur what the WAFL clubs get in compensation for as the host club was presented as a fait accompli to the WAFL clubs.

Swan 42: Agreed. To be honest, it is good thing that EP were short of quid, because otherwise it might have put around Subiaco's neck, whatever the position of the President and the board was at the time. As you say, the Commission tends to wield its powers far too freely at times.

I wonder if the clubs will ask for more money in the next agreement?

That is why it is imperative that we send a very clear message next Sunday.
