Pretty good first up game today. well worth watching. could have gone either way but swans simply wanted it more. if they can capitalise on the turnovers they create......lookout!!! Very good games from broad, hilda, lamme in the ruck, cameron, newman, blakely. excellent from miles and robbo back after long layoffs. i could go on but might miss someone. was also very excited watching the progress of wp flogging the eagles and well done demons for giving freo a lesson. hope neither of the sellouts ever win so much as the junior raffle again. great to have the wafl up and away!!

Yeah good to have the footy back.

The most astounding performance of the day I think came from Matt Johnson of West Perth. It wasn't his senior debut as such because he has played one Foxtel Cup game but either way 6 goals for an 18 year old is a phenomenal effort.
And they weren't just standard lead, mark, goal from 25 out either. Most of his were good enough to make the highlight reel - some were genuinely mercurial. If you didn't catch the game have a look at the replay on the ABC or the upload on ABCiView.

Sounds like he could be anything LH. looking forward to SD v Garlics so i can see him first hand. great to see a young fella grab an opportunity.

Great effort from young Johnson ...almost as good a debut as Round 1 2008 when a 17yo Chris Yarran kicked 7.4 on debut for Swans vs Peel at Rushton Park.
