Has the WAFC set up the biggest insult to the West Australian FL and the West Australian FL followers? We have 2 AFL reserves teams playing in our finals and it would be the ultimate insult if one of them wins the GF. The teams that we once knew as "East Perth" and "Peel" play this week in the elim final and the winner could well go on to take the flag. Seeing as how it is not a level playing field, this will be the utmost insult to West Australian football. 2000/1/2 all over again.
My apologies to the 2 reserves side if this insults you.... ;)

Yes it is a worry 58shark and it is a scenario that all of us knew was going to happen some day. For this year though history is against them as the record of 4th and 5th teams winning a flag is almost non existent. I think that the premiership will be decided between the top 3, but its only a matter of time before the aligned teams get into this position and that will be where the comp loses any last shred of credibility it has

Mikeh how many Eagles aligned players won't be allowed to play for the WAFL aligned club due to the Eagles' AFL commitment on the following Thursday? For any Swans' supporter who saw us thrash the legitimate Peel team fully understand how compromised the WAFL competition. Could you imagine what sort of crowd we are likely to get if it was a Subiaco Peel GF?

Unfortunately, there is no likelihood that the WAFC will make decisions that would improve the integrity of the WAFL competition. In fact I have heard the possibility that the colts' competition will be scrapped and replaced by a similar structure to what it is in place in Victoria.

Hadnt thought about that one Swan42, very good point. This gives the Freo reserves team a big advantage as you would assume that they would have their pick of eligible Dockers players. Makes a bigger joke of this game if that is possible. Also I would like to know why the Swans and East Perth colts teams are being forced to go to Mandurah to play their game when it could easily be accommodated at a ground closer to both clubs. Perhaps its because of support staff for East Perth but I thought the league and colts had different staff anyway?

If you play in a League and you are the Colt's unfortunately you follow the flow of what is happening in the top grade, which is home game advantage for the higher team, in this case Peel, so lower grades at Mandurah. Not fair on a true footy follower, if Reserves & Colts allowed to play elsewhere and say just a League game at the venue

I almost hope it happens to drive home the point that the comp is now a farce with less interest than there was 6 years ago thanks to the alignment rubbish

Yep cant stand the alignment teams one iota but lets not forget the other mob going for 7 flags in 12 years who have continually pinched other WAFL teams best League players for their own greedy self!

Kirbs I have absolutely no interest in watching the two AFL aligned clubs play in the league final. It is an absurdity that Swans and East Perth colts are playing at Mandurah. The game should have been played at Basso.

58, come end of the day the comp is what it is......all the clubs know what they are getting when they play Peel and EP. If Peel play 20 Freo boys in every final game more fool the WAFL letting it happen......I remember folk all up in arms last year when Peel played that weakend side v WP and got thrashed.....now Peel are playing a stronger side folk are still pissed and saying it is a mockery of the comp......look on the bright side at least come round 1 of the finals there will be only 1 alignment team...out of the two I wonder which team is the most liked......

And this is why the WAFL is going nowhere, everyone wants the League to bend this bend that, not for the betterment of football as a whole
