Should we be compromising out WAFL competitions to accommodate the whims of the AFL scouts? Unequivocally and unambiguously no. Don't delude yourself that the AFL scouts are doing us any favours; if all the games were scheduled for 9.00 am they would be there. No ifs and no buts.

The colts competition is well and truly compromised anyhow without the influence of AFL scouts. Rarely is it a clubs best 22 under 19s v the others. Club's philosophies, National Championships, and PSA make sure it's compromised. I used to coach for a WAFL colts club and and gave up the perception it was uncompromised in my first year there. Giving up a home game to play East Freo at East Freo in a Superround told me that!

Grump,there are about 9 5PM starts and a 6PM start at Joondalup,which makes it even worse for travelling Property Stewards and Trainers,to a lesser extent,.....maybe.

I am assumng that is for the whole colts comp, ep have the 2 that I mentioned.

One thing that doesn't seem to rate a mention is that the boys will play anywhere and anytime if the have half a chance of getting drafted. It isn't abt me as a trainer or the property man, we are there for the club and the boys and we don't like it then don't do it.

EP have not had much in the way of draft picks in the past couple of years, 2 in the past 3 or 4 years but I would be there at 7 and still there for the 16's just so they get the best chance they have to further their career.

The point of this since the advent of the draft is allow and prepare the boys to play the best football they can!
