Its to stop the likes of the beags dropping multiple numbers back to the WAFL to give them game time if they're not involved in an AFL final that weekend....it makes sense to me.

Yes that's correct. Very disgruntled about it I believe.
The ball is already rolling on rule changes at the 'review' and Dawson has already stated he hopes this situation will not happen next season and beyond.
As far as I'm concerned if they don't like the current rules, piss off and withdraw the alignments out of the Wafl!

If the alignments end it will be beacuse the eagles and dockers will have stand alone teams. The south aussies have embraced the crows and port having stand alone teams and for the second year in a row the crows have failed to make the finals and port adelaide under a slightly different structure have failed to win a premiership.we always seem to look backwards and the south aussies are always way in front of us.One day we may have stadium to match theirs.

There's an easy solution that I expect will be introduced next season should this scenario repeat itself with either the Dockers or Eagles having a week off during the finals in that they will be forced to name a legitimate 24 man squad. Then those outside the squad will be clear to play for the aligned WAFL club if they are still competing.

As Tiger of Old eluded to other WAFL clubs, in this case WP shouldn't get an unfair advantage by playing EP the week the Eagles have off and left over players not being able to play.

Seriously RD? The club that wore Peel jumpers this year had an unfair advantage over the non-aligned WAFl clubs everytime they played them except for one memorable game when the 2nd placed team beat the 3rd placed "team" by over 100 points in a qualifying final.

As big a joke and DISGRACE that the host club alignment is and the consequence damage to the integrity of the WAFL competition my very simple response to A Simpson is if he doesn't like he situation tender his resignation from his coaching position and return from whence he came.

Dismissing common sense for a moment Rookie, as a hypothetical it certainly would be an interesting call for the WAFC if Simpson did wave his resignation about over the issue. Dare I say it Woosha would have got his way.

The eagles need to take some blame for what has happened to Selwood and Mcginnity. In their rush to get Selwood back to afl action they did play him as a sub when he needed some more match time in the wafl.As for Mcginnity he missed a week and they decided to play him as a sub when they should have given him a full game at east perth last week and mavbe had lucas as the sub. They tweaked the rules earlier this year that players had to play 5 actual wafl games and not have games as emergencies with the eagles and dockers to be included.maybe our finals should start later then the afl and the gf be played the week after the afl so that only qualified players can play the gf.

Quite the contrary Rookie draft I am fully cognisant of the parasitical tendencies of the AFL. The West Coast have shown absolute contempt for the WAFL competition, integrity and history. As for those totally delusional who think that the Peel Football Club made the finals this year need only have a look at their qualifying final which is the TRUE indicator of how the REAL Peel performed this year.

The one time the WAFC actually showed some fortitude and made a decision for the WAFL competition the West Coast Eagles spit the dummy and show their contempt and pathetic angst which would more apposite to a 5 year old.
