Tomorrow the WACA and WAFC will announce the future of the WACA as a joint local cricket and WAFL ground as well as the new HQ for the WAFC.

Subi will be demolished and sold and the proceeds going towards a major redevelopment of the WACA as a joint venue.

Major cricket fixtures will move to the new stadium.

The new boutique stadium will host WAFL and the WAFL GF , personally I think this is a great move.

Footy could have shored up their future if only they listened to SD director Howard Dawson 2 years ago when he said in a proposal to the commission something along the lines of sell subi oval off and invest the return and run the game of the interest..the horse may have bolted on that but this may be the next best compromise

Southerner I think you may be right, I think there will be a very generous offer for at least one WAFL club to move to the WACA, I reckon it will be EP.

Dennis Lilley quit this week, obviously he was outvoted on the deal, he would of wanted all international cricket to stay at the WACA, that is not going to happen and he walked.

Bazza we had almost 26,000 for the 2010 WAFL GF. Do you suggest that we should aspire to have a 2014 GF attendance rather than a 2010 GF attendance? If it is the former what has changed so much that we can only achieve around 40% of the 2010 WAFL GF attendance?

We had 32,000 in 1997 ... so what, overall wafl attendances have been in free fall since 2009, 2014 attendances will look good in 10 years, the alignment deal, the passing of the wafl old guard, the growing dominance of afl will see it shrink.

2010 was 24,600 , how is that nearly 26k?

Given swans attendances of late , the waca will have nothing to worry about.
