I certainly hope the crowd figure given at todays Grand Final was wrong? Surely just over 10 and a half thousand is incorrect? Very difficult to fathom that number, given the great weather conditions today!

It was 13,000 , thats a few grand less than I tipped , very Dissapointing, maybe the smoke had something to do with it...lol

I'm flabbergasted it was that high if your number is correct Bazza. After being told it was an open ticket event, choose your own seats, some parts of the stadium (aside from corporate box closures) were closed off to spectators. We got kicked out of sitting in our preferred location in whilst peacefully watching the footy on the southern side stand doing nobody an inch of harm whilst enjoying the sunshine. I didn't stay for the league game after being told due to a lack of ground staff I couldnt continue to sit where I'd peacefully watched 1 1/2 of games of footy up to that point with my girl friend. Hardly any catering open, they knew they were not getting a big crowd today which I assume has a lot to do with a weekend footy overload. As stated previously bloody glad I scored free tickets from a SD fan at the gates. Much appreciation to the kind fellow who passed on the tickets. Only win on a rather bleak sunshiny day .

DW do you reckon all your 40000 SD mates left after the 1st qrtr of the colts match? ;) ...sad to hear that crowd number though.....however 3 10 goal floggings certainly isnt a good advertisement for the WAFL on GF day TBH....amazing to think the two best sides through all 3 grades over a whole season can be that far apart.....

Oh well 2015 dead and buried now.....well done to Subi, SF and Cl on their wins.......no doubt Cl win was a result of their perceived Private School riches......SF win was the result of their perceived reserve quality only riches and Subiaco's win due to their perceived financial riches.....winners are grinners no matter how their win is perceived to be achieved..... ;)

Freeze I reckon most of them left after the final siren of the Eagles match. My girl friend was attending her first ever football match in Australia and from a personal point of view I was kinda embarrassed at the lack of atmosphere at the ground today. Hard to talk it up when 3 very flat games of football get played. Not sure if I'll get her to come along again but that might not be such a bad thing if I can still get a leave pass :P

I can only imagine what it was like at the ground DW, that place near empty is a dud venue.

I can tell you it came across as a very ordinary spectacle on TV, just banks and banks of empty seats and no noise at all, and the game itself was a fizzer.

Im glad the WAFL will relocate the GF to the smaller more suitable Waca, cant come soon enough.

I was expecting more of the Garlic Army at the GF today ???
We had our normal crowd which is only a loyal following although I was surprised at how many Lions were there when we all hang around for the presentations

Like I said on the Subi thread, they gotta play it at a suburban ground.
Or the WACA would be a much better venue given its reduced capacity.

Lathlain won't be an option once the Eagles turn that great ground into a parkland love nest. East Freo Oval won't be around, Rushton Park is too far out of the CBD, Joondalup is a notorious wind tunnel with no shade, Claremont Ovals capacity after that $16 million development will have a capacity of 5000 only, which leaves just Leederville, Bassendean and maybe Fremantle Ovals. Though the concrete hemmeroid enhancer isn't that family comfortable, it has atmosphere and can hold a crowd. I'd love a GF at either Leederville or BAssendean, both top venues to watch games & suitable for the WAFLs target customers.
