Some interesting attendance figures borne out in this story: www.westperthfc.com.au/news/7323/falcons-set-the-benchmark

I would like to see all the figures, however, to me, the most interesting in this article are:

* Attendance across the WAFL in H&A down 2% on last season.
* Attendance at East Perth home games down a huge 19% on last season, despite hosting two derbies (EP only hosted one last season).
* Attendance at Peel home games up by a very healthy 12% on last season.
* Attendance at West Perth home games up by 6% on last season, putting them 25% ahead of their nearest rival (Swan Districts at Bassendean).

So, what are we putting this all down to? Alignment for East Perth's failure and Peel's success? Gradual decline for the small loss in WAFL crowds? West Perth's premiership for their increase??

All of those would make some sense, though some of you may have other explanations.

And what about the WP home crowd being 25% bigger than the home crowd for any other team in a season when there was only one derby at Joondalup?

Reckon it says a few things. EP fans and probably oppostion clubs dont like the algignment and they voted with their feet. i only went to two games at Leederville this year myself in protest. Peel probably coming off a very low base i would suspect but even still maybe Manduarah folk catching on. As for the Garlics, they always promoting themselves. Every week they are in the paper, on the wireless or on the box and i think that is reflective of what can be achieved.

Had to go last week to watch our Reserves but got in for free with a pass Not so bad this week as EF V SUBI on.. Assume Subi get the gate money or is it split up amongst all the clubs who play on the day? This message represents the official view of the voices in my head

Pretty sure WAFL gets the gate in finals. Home team gets lump sum ($10k?) and bar takings.
