What is "stunning" here is this photo is a fraud and a hoax! The majority of the players that play for this fraudulent joke of a club are NOT in this so called club photo, it is a misrepresentation of what is clearly a cover up...how stupid do they really think we are?

VERY.If you look at last years club squad photos you will not see any west coast or dockers in them.Can't see hutchings or mellington in the west perth photo.Having a go at the budget is a cheap shot and shows why this comp is going downhill.Nothing positive ever is spoken except dribble.

Chaddy, very hard to speak positively as you say about this unfair competition the way it stands, here you have two clubs full of AFL professional players and basically a endless salary cap and staff from the AFL system competing against armature clubs with a salary cap.

Positive? give me a break, there is NOTHING POSITIVE about what is happening here.

No more to the story than that, it is not a desperate attempt to win at all costs. Winning means virtually nothing to even die hards like myself anymore it's to easy. I'm led to believe two clubs are worse off than us but this is only hear say. Myself I would have preferred to just close the doors and take up our place in WA history.

More than two clubs are in trouble. A lot is riding on who will get control of the new stadium, if the WAFC miss out (which seems likely) then all WAFL clubs will get their WAFC allowances cut. If this happens the comp is dead. No club can survive without that handout.

The positive is the swannies who despite losing a lot of players have had a great year as well as subi who both are doing better then expected.The only way we will get a fair competition is to give the dockers and eagles what they really wanted and that is stand alone teams.I am hoping eventually the eagles will have a stand alone team and that peel becomes a dockers stand alone team without a reserves or colts just as the Adelaide Crows have a stand alone team in the sanfl but no reserves or colts.I think this is the only way to resolve the hated alignment issue.My thoughts are that once a player gets drafted they ain't your player anymore and if both sides want stand alone teams so be it.It would get rid of the
dreaded bye and all teams will be able to develop their own players without interference from both afl teams.

agree with Chaddy, this is the only way the wafl will continue. the only reasonably workable way.

Chaddy two fundamental flaws with your proposal:

(i) AFL aligned players will still be playing against the WAFL from which they were drafted;

(ii) which competition(s) are going to be raided to provide players to allow the 'stand-alone' teams to have 22 players?

42, if you want your drafted SD boys to play for you instead of EP or Peel, then don't take the draft money and dip your hand into your pocket and pay the kid an AFL wage ;) ......

I don't understand how you want the AFL dosh for drafting AND still want to have first dibs on the player if playing in the WAFL..... AND still expect Freo or WCE to pay their wages.......that's like me selling you my car and then me driving it AND asking you to pay all its farken road costs like fuel, servicing,repairs etc ......farken delusional...it aint mine anymore...it's farken yours because you did the traditional thing and bought it off me!!..

As for top up players.....sheet all Freo and WCE will do is pop down to the bank, withdraw whatever SDFC makes in a year, with one withdrawal and go out and buy some fella's.......and some more!!

Based on the eagles form this year have any borderline players actually improved due to the alignment or any rookies come thru ?

Excellent point MarkOlsen, very hard to see any benefit to the Eagles at this early stage. I think the old formula served them well and the players seemed to enjoy it except probably if you had to play for Peel. The only problem from a WAFL point of view is that perhaps Claremont and East Fremantle end up with quite a few more AFL players on their lists. Not their fault just lucky to have excellent zones and from my outside perspective they work them very well. A little tinkering at the edges maybe to balance the numbers would have been warranted. I guess this model is dead and buried though.
