What a joke of an East (Eagles) Perth team photo
I can see they've dragged in many an unhappy player to take this shot without the regular EAGLES inclusions making up smiley faced numbers
Can't see this pic gracing too many walls - not without a ? next to it

Growler I haven't seen the photo as yet; are you saying that is only 'local' East Perth players are in the photo?

Yeah, they were struggling for numbers without the eagles players. Interesting to see their team list also. With all the Eagles in blue, there were only a few EP players listed in the league side.

It would be nice to find out the "truth" about why East Perth agreed to this alignment deal.

For all our criticism (mine included) of the West Coast media campaign before hand, it was East Perth who signed the contract. Nobody made them do it.

For better or for worse, those that run EP think that this is the right thing for them.

I think without it EP are insolvent, no money and no future. It was the only alternative other than a merger or shutting shop.

Why didnt they just put the WEAGLES team shot in there lol as that is basically what it is.. ok have a couple like Wulffy etc but thats only the guys who get game because they havent got enough players? Strange that as I have noticed that a couple of Eagles recruits are playing in the Reserves Strange to say the least

The truth is our finances where and still are in a far worse state than is sustainable. That is with people pouring in hundreds of thousands of their own money in ever year. No more to the story than that, it is not a desperate attempt to win at all costs. Winning means virtually nothing to even die hards like myself anymore it's to easy. I'm led to believe two clubs are worse off than us but this is only hear say. Myself I would have preferred to just close the doors and take up our place in WA history.

ok thanks yes, that's what a few of the EP supporters have told me.

So there's no real point in hoping EP will change their minds.

If EPEagles were going to go to the wall, where the hell was their board...you know, the ones that organize revenue raising? Do you really think that they are the only ones doing it hard? There are other teams that live almost hand to mouth, but haven't prostituted their club. They should have got off their collective arses and stopped relying on the Bronte handouts. To me, it is all about silverware to them...nothing else.

I would also like to find out, how much did the two AFL clubs agree to give each WAFL club per year for this agreement. And also how much on average are the running costs of each WAFL club per year.
