West Coast Eagles CEO Trevor Nisbett tells WAFL presidents club could join national reserves competition or expanded VFLThe WAFL could face an uncertain future if Eagles decide to leave in favour of a national reserves competition, writes MARK DUFFIELD.

The spectre of an AFL reserves competition to take all AFL listed players out of traditional second tier competitions within three years is again looming over the WAFL.West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett told WAFL club presidents on Tuesday that a national reserves competition or joining an expanded VFL was an option for West Coast if they did not believe they were getting the right conditions to develop young players in their stand alone WAFL team.

Its disgraceful they are forcing WAFL players who work for West Coast to play for their WAFL team or have to lose their job to stay with their current WAFL club. They wont and never will get any sympathy for me. They have taken the WAFL for granted from day one.

They'll still be paying their dividend to the WAFC who could and should decide to up the amount given they own the license. They wcer dont want a stand alone Wafl club.They want a Wafl alignment.If Perth leave Lathlain. Theirs no chance of that,happening. At least Freo and Peel just get on with it.Without the moaning and groaning of West Coast.

Only initially Baz, yes the AFL would be forced to allow WC and Fremantle to increase their lists but once they are established they then should be keeping the ones they delist from the AFL list to play for their reserves and continue to develop them instead of discarding them like they usually do.

In other words act like a traditional WAFL club.
