I think a lot of people, certainly the ones I know, are disillusioned with how the WAFC are bending over for Peelmantle.  Makes me wonder if it’s worth following footy next year.

Baz it's like when the Eagles said there Wafl side would increase Wafl crowds. It done the exact opposite. With there tier 3 team participating.
The only time it ever worked was when players where spread around the Wafl clubs.
The Wafc just fail to read the room.Traditional Wafl fans don't want an AFL involment. And are voting with there feet and staying away.
The sooner they set up the AFL reserves the better of we will be.Looks like the feeling is similar in the SANFL.

people stayed away yesterday because of the fixturing and time of the match along with not wanting to see another game like last weekend's Mandurah v Swan Districts
Not too many WAFL supporters want to see that sort of unfairness , inequality or compromise that just accommodates one team only

Another poster suggested a couple of weeks ago that the Wafl clubs may have agreed to all this bullshit!
If that is the case, nothing can be done!
Obviously the Wafl clubs were in the drivers seat at one stage and chose not to be. Consequently if they've chosen to be dictated to by big business as is currently happening, that decision also affects the members, supporters and fans.
One aspect of that means a great number of Wafl fans have walked away!

The WAFC have been so poor at financially supporting the WAFL clubs for decades despite having the cash cow that is the 2 AFL licences, so when a few crumbs were offered by the AFL teams to buy their way into our comp, the clubs were forced to take it. There needs to be a lot more money coming from the AFL teams to be put into the WAFL and grass roots footy. Both AFL clubs are highly profitable especially WC, so no excuses not to pitch in more money. Why should an AFL club like WC have multi million dollar profits and $30 mill +++ in their coffers when the WAFL is struggling to survive. The WAFC are not doing their job and seem powerless and unwilling to impose any sort of controls on the 2 AFL teams.

Peelmantle can actually utilise 14 Freo players going forward in this Finals Series as (with the blessing of the WAFC) they have pulled the ol Nathan Wilson & Ethan Hughes (drafted from SD I might add) are local Peel boys and thus should not count as Dockers afl boys!

Mate its becoming increasingly hard to get people along to games, I know in my old WAFL group I am pretty much the last one left that goes to more that 1 or 2 games a year, some have chucked it in completely in last couple of years.

I'm the same as you Baz.Use to go with a group of 6 to the local Wafl .Around 7 to 8 years ago.Theres only two of us left in the group. And it's only about 5 home games a year.Even some free tickets from a former player could not get them back.

There is even less oxygen and interest now due to the AFLW rubbish changing it’s season time.
